This is not an English language camp where young people spend a few hours in lessons and then switch straight back to their own language. Workshops reinforce vocabulary, grammar, listening and communication, but English continues during sport, projects, meals, challenges and the evening programme. The aim is to give campers a genuine reason to use English while still making the week feel like a holiday, not school.
An English camp where English continues all day
At many traditional language camps, there is a clear divide between lessons and free time.
Let’s Go Native is built differently.
English is the shared language of camp life. Campers use it during workshops, sport, team activities, creative projects, meals and evenings. They meet young people from different countries, which means English becomes more than something they practise in a classroom. It becomes the language they use to join in, make friends and become part of the group.
That creates a much more natural form of English immersion. Campers still work on vocabulary, grammar, listening and communication, but they also get repeated opportunities to use those skills in real situations throughout the day.
Suitable for beginners and advanced English speakers
Campers do not need to arrive with a high level of English.
Let’s Go Native has experience working with a wide range of levels, from young people who are still hesitant about speaking English to confident speakers who need more challenge.
During the English workshops, activities can be adapted to different levels. Outside the workshops, everyone can participate at their own pace. A beginner might start with shorter exchanges and simple sentences, while a more advanced camper can be encouraged to communicate in greater depth, present ideas or take more responsibility within a team.
The goal is simple: help every camper make progress from the level they arrive with.
Adventure, sport and creative projects
Our autumn camp takes place at a brand-new centre near Ypres, with plenty of space and a strong adventure focus. The October programme includes activities such as climbing, high ropes and laser battle, alongside sport, English workshops and creative projects.
The days are designed to keep young people active and involved. Campers work together, solve problems, take on challenges and create things as a team rather than spending long periods sitting in a classroom.
Creative sessions also give them opportunities to use multimedia and project work in English. The language becomes part of what they are doing rather than a separate subject.
That is why English autumn camp probably describes the experience better than simply calling it a language course. It is a proper holiday camp, with English running through the whole week.
Close supervision throughout the week
For parents, the programme is only part of the decision.
It also matters what happens between activities, at meals and in the evenings.
The Let’s Go Native team stays with the group throughout the camp. Staff share meals with campers, supervise transitions between activities and organise the evening programme, so the week remains structured beyond the formal sessions.
Evenings continue with group games, films, competitions and shared activities.
Campers still have space to become more independent, because that is an important part of residential camp life. But they do so within a supported environment where staff are nearby and where we actively make sure everyone feels included.
A real holiday camp, not an extra week of school
Parents searching for an October camp, autumn camp for teens, residential holiday camp or simply a good week away may not initially be looking for an English language programme.
That is completely fine.
Young people come to Let’s Go Native to have fun, make new friends, try new things and become more independent. The difference is that all of this happens in an international environment where English is the common language.
So the week can be both an English language camp and a genuine residential holiday camp, without campers feeling as though they have signed up for an extra week of school.
Easy transport from Paris, Lille, Brussels and Rotterdam
We organise transport to make the camp straightforward to reach for families across France, Belgium and the Netherlands.
Pick-up options are available from Paris Gare du Nord, Lille Europe, Brussels Midi and Rotterdam Centraal.
That means families can bring their child to a convenient major station and Let’s Go Native handles the onward journey to Ypres with the group.
Transport is especially useful for younger campers or families who want the experience of an international residential camp without having to organise the full journey themselves.
Why Ypres for an autumn English camp?
Ypres gives us exactly what we want from an October camp: a modern centre, plenty of space, adventure activities and enough variety to keep the programme active throughout the week.
It is also easy to reach from France, Belgium and the Netherlands, while still giving campers the feeling of being away on an international trip.
For young people, the result is a week of adventure, new friendships and growing independence. For their English, it means something just as important: a full week where speaking is not simply an exercise, but part of everyday life.
